Esquire 2 is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top of the line executive accessory I use the Esquire 2 for conference calls daily. The quad microphones are excellent for voice quality to the receiving party. The sound from the speaker is also excellent as one would expect from HK. The fit and finish is very appropriate for an executive environment and the better last every bot of the 8 hours claimed. I highly recommend this HK product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Form Follows Function I bought this fine Bluetooth speaker at a cellphone provider and after listening to the quality of sound, purchased it immediately. I didn't have a choice of colors but that wasn't important. I like the quick and easy Bluetooth connection from all of my electronic devices. One of the best options on the Esquire 2 is the addition of a very good carrying case. This adds protection and gives the Esquire 2 a more distinguished look of eloquence and produces a "Form Follows Function admiration.

I want to charge esq 2 with wall charger. what is min and max power/output needed to charge but not damage battery? time to fully charge, how can you tell?

Asked by: Stevewin55
Using the included micro USB cable, you can charge the Esquire 2 within 3.5 – 5.5 hours. Change time varies based on the power outlet (computer USB input, Wall outlet). Please note, the charging cable’s amperage should be 0.5A or more. There is no maximum amp rating, so you can go as you like.

I just purchased my Esquire 2 after wanting it for a long time. I am very happy with it so far, build quality, finish and sound. However how do I tell the speaker to switch between two different successfully connected devices with out repairing them?

Asked by: actit
OK I see. The Esquire 2 can connect to two devices simultaneously and then you just need to start an audio source for either device and the Esquire 2 will automatically switch between them. My main issues is on turning on/off the Esquire 2 and reconnecting it as I am using a PC for Skype and iPhone for calls. It would be great to get firmware to allowing pushing the BT button to switch between connected devices and long hold of the BT button to sync devices. My work around for Windows 10 was to follow this: http://blog.jongallant.com/2012/12/windows-8-bluetooth-connect/. This works but it is not clean/simple/elegant. The firmware update I suggested would take care of this and maybe you could even increase the number of connected devices to 4 and reuse the battery LEDs to indicate which device is currently connected 1-4 etc.

I recently purchased a used Esquire 2 at a yard sale. It appears to be in a demo mode. Is there a way to factory reset?

Asked by: Srose 65
To reset the ESQUIRE 2, Simply press and hold Volume + & phone button at the same time. When the unit is reset, it will power off, and turn on the unit again, and it is reset.

Hi, does Esquire 2 Supported the 3.5 mm jack to be used for laptop speaker. this is just in case there is laptop could not connect using Bluetooth. Thanks

Asked by: Asep
If in any case your laptop is not equipped nor the Bluetooth driver isn't updated, then you can use a 3.5mm audio cable between the laptop and the Esquire 2 to play music or what not. For any laptop that has bluetooth connectivity, for it to work a Bluetooth enabled speaker the driver should be updated and the profile to stream music is A2DP, refer to the laptops manufacture for the update.

Hi, I use my Esquire 2 for conferencing via Skype for Business. What happens is that the audio randomly cuts. Then I have to stop the call and rejoin in order to get the audio. The divise is about 20cm from my laptop.

Asked by: Jacques
It is possible that what you are experiencing is due to the ESQUIRE's power saving feature. It is auto sensing and will turn off if no audio signal is detected for approximately 10 minutes. So, if you have the volume on the ESQUIRE cranked up, and the volume on your source device set really low, it is very possible that the XTREME is not seeing enough of an audio signal to know to stay on. Please try turning the volume on the ESQUIRE down a bit, and then crank up the volume on your source device to get to the level you desire. This will send a signal to the ESQUIRE and it should stay on without any issues.

My Esquire 2 will not connect to my Yealink T48G SIP phone with BT40 bluetooth dongle.  Is there any way of changing the firmware on the Esquire to version compatible with the BT40, or some other way of connecting the two devices?

Asked by: JoeG
Unfortunately, the BT40 Bluetooth dongle only supports Bluetooth version of up to v4.0. The ESQUIRE 2’s Bluetooth version is 4.1.

Hi there, I have purchased this as well as a 4-pole male 3.5mm jack to female MIC and Audio 3.5mm jacks. The sound output works but the computer is not getting any MIC signal. The computer shows a MIC is connected but it will not pick up anything.

Asked by: Kyle Farr
The ESQUIRE 2 is not designed to be connected to any third party microphone. The ESQUIRE 2 has its own built-in microphone to use for phone calls.
