HK SB20 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Soundbar I've ever owned Recently, I replaced my old speakers with this soundbar. And I had no regrets. This sound bar is simply exceptional and really impressive sounding. It played almost all genres of songs really good. It's warm bass, powerful mids, and crystal clear highs handles the job easily. When I watch HD concerts I can't help but pump the volume up because the sound is just so real and immersive; it's like being there in the concert hall. And with the movies? It's bass is really tight and punchy... I can say for myself, as a cinema goer, that the sound coming from this speakers is close to that in movie theatres and sometimes I think it is even better; clear dialogue, powerful explosions, I can even pinpoint where the tiny sounds like bullets ricocheting are. Although, it lacks simple features like indicators for tuning the bass with the remote.

Hi, just bought SB20, does the soundbar support 4K TV?

Asked by: Liro N
Hi Liro, Thank you for your interest in our products. Sadly, the Harman Kardon SB20 does not support 4K. I would however like to recommend our JBL SB450 - which does support 4K http://uk.jbl.com/soundbars/SB+450.html?dwvar_SB%20450_color=Black-EMEA#start=1 If you require further information, please feel free to contact us by email on customer.support@harman.com

Hello as a 24yr old, i want to invest in a future proof fullrange soundbar, Does this one have Bluetooth 5.0, support chromecast and will I be able to connect it to other wireless speaker in stereo?

Asked by: Marc Arthor
The SB250 has Bluetooth version of 2.1 ER and compatible with most Bluetooth-enabled devices. It's not chromecast-buit in and cannot be connected to other wireless speaker.

We have had an accident and made a small hole in the speaker cover fabric on the soundbar. Is it possible to replace the speaker fabric?

Asked by: Giles
Hi Giles, Sorry to hear about the fabric being damaged. Yes, the whole fabric can be swopped out with a new one. Please contact our service station below and ask for the fabric part. Where can we get a complete list of the functionality of this device? The QSG is near useless. What is "Harmon Sound" for example? Other posts have managed to obtain information about remote control learning and device reset... What else is hidden?

Asked by: FrustratedCustomer
Hi, Thank you for your question and concern. The Quick Start Guide covers all features of what the soundbar can do, and to know what a specific feature can do, then in our Spec sheet found on our website you can read about the features. To explain what Harman Sound is, please see below: No more loud commercials or other sudden volume changes – Harman Volume automatically keeps audio changes smooth and consistent so you can pay attention to your entertainment, not your remote. I will forward your feedback to our engineering department. If you need more assistance or help, please contact us at customer.service@harman.com

Hi how can you turn on dolby digital i can only access normal settings on my tv turning on digital results in loss of sound my connection is via hdmi to hdmi arc on tv .

Asked by: Manolos
Hi Manalos, The Soundbar will detect the source signal and if that is Dolby digital content, then it will play source in the Soundbar. If you have the possibility to change the settings to PCM or Bitstream (depending on what it is set to now), then that might solve the issue. The last thing would be to try the Soundbar on a different TV and see how the results will be when testing Dolby Digital. If you seek further assistance or help, please contact our customer service at customer.service@harman.com

Hi, in this model, can i make the TV remote to control on the unit? i know that it`s posibble in other models made by HK

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, Yes, that is possible. Here are the instructions on how to program the remote: Step 1: Power on your Harman Kardon SB20. Step 2: Press and hold the SB20 surround button for 5 seconds. This will make the system enter IR learning mode. The power button will flash amber while in learning mode. Step 3: Now the SB20 can learn to respond to your TV remote control. These commands can be learned: To learn the SB 20 VOL+ command, press volume + on the SB 20 top panel, then press VOL+ on your TV remote control. The power button should blink amber, and the surround button will light up for 1 second. This will indicate that the process was successful. Repeat the procedure for volume-, mute and power on/off. Step 4: To exit the learning mode, press and hold the surround button for 5 seconds again. The power button light goes out. If you need further help or assistance, please contact customer service at customer.service@harman.com

Is there a proper manual for this sound bar? Supplied one is useless. No explanation of what the various functions are or how to use them. Most frustrating is that there is no indication on the tv screen that a button on the remote has been activated

Asked by: The Listener
Hi. We are sorry that you find the quick-start guide insufficient. It is true that no other manual exists, but as we see it, the QSG tells you all about connecting and using the SB. This may not be true, as you point out. Please understand that on-screen display is not possible with this kind of soundbar. Since you are not using it as a source, you cannot transmit images from the soundbar to the TV. If you want to have this feature, you will need a soundbar with HDMI inputs, where all external sources are connected to the soundbar, which in turn is used as a source device by the TV. And of course, if you use the built-in tuner of the TV, with audio going via ARC to the soundbar, on-screen display will not be active anyway, since the SB is now no longer a source device. The SB 35 Sabre can be used as a source device. We suggest that you call, mail or chatter with our helpdesk if you are in doubt about any of the functions on the remote control. Our agents will be able to help you. Contact details are on the HK web page, under support.

Hello. Yesterday I bought the HB SB20 model and upon plugin in the subwoofer there is this constant " fussy" sound coming from it, even when there is no actual input sound. I tried lowering the bass volume, but this "fussy" sound is still there..

Asked by: Fugitive13
Hi I would like to suggest that when testing, you make sure there are no other Bluetooth devices nearby, and that both the Soundbar and Subwoofer are not near a wireless router ( WiFi 2.4Ghz ). Please reset your Soundbar by pressing and holding the "Volume+" button, together with the "Surround" button for 5 seconds until the SB20 restarts. You can now pair the subwoofer with the soundbar again. If above solution has not fixed the issue, please contact us on customer.support@harman.com, for further assistance
